What ? and Why ?
Inside Out is a large-scale participatory art project that transforms messages of personal identity into pieces of artistic work. Everyone is challenged to use black and white photographic portraits to discover, reveal and share the untold stories and images of people around the world. These digitally uploaded
images are made into posters and sent back to the projectʼs co-creators, for them to exhibit in their own communities. Posters can be placed anywhere, from a solitary image in an office window, to a wall of an abandoned building, or in a full stadium. These exhibitions will be documented, archived and be made available online at http://www.insideoutproject.net/.
The INSIDE OUT project is a creation of the artist JR, recipient of the 2011 TED Prize (watch JR's TED talk here).
By joining the Inside Out Project, we stand up for what we care and encourage people to do so.
Despite substantial progress in reducing air pollution, the Aix-Marseille area is still having some of the worst air quality in the nation, resulting in significant health and economic costs.
In fact, the deployment of effective action plans is hampered by the lack of integration and the limited information and data exchanges, which result in insufficient stakeholders engagement, silo thinking, unresolved conflicts of objectives, and poor cooperation.
Yet people want to get engaged and make a difference, by reporting, sharing insights, organizing group actions, imagining and creating solutions, contributing actively to the elaboration of air policies.
Citizens, organizations, policy makers want TO CONNECT FOR THE SAKE OF AIR. They want a governance model that will allow everyone to actively engage.
Through the “Connect for the sake of AIR” Inside Out Group Action people express their willingness to bring their own unique skills to the fight against air pollution and their need for an open and inclusive governance.
