We observe, experience, listen, gather informations, ideas, and insights. We value the time we spend exploring - and sometimes getting lost in - new ideas, techniques and designs, more than often far away from our immediate fields of interest.
We also conduct structured research on specific topics, involving qualitative and quantitative processes. Every time we tackle a new issue or contribute solving a new problem, we thoroughly study its background by connecting with experts in a field, looking for existing solutions and understanding global and local trends.
Building visions and strategies
From our learning, we build visions and strategies through a synthesis process. We synthesize our learnings in visions and strategies, that help us and our partners to understand the WHY of our actions and experiments. We strongly believe that for any issue we tackle, strategy and experimentation are equally important.
Prototyping and testing
Experimental processes such as design thinking, agile methods, prototyping and testing and lean evidence gathering are essential to ensure that the programs and solutions we help develop will be fully “citizen-driven”.
We know that to be successful, the projects we are involved in will be the result of a lot of improvement and adaptation: this is why we build them around iterative and adaptive experimental processes.
The air sector undergoes a major cultural shift: from centralised approaches to stakeholders-driven approaches, from rigid plans to experimentation. The political system does not easily allow for change, and engagement is essential to overcome the resistances that are expected to arise.
We use empathy to better understand the citizens’ needs; dedicate substantial work to the co-elaboration of effective organisational and governance frameworks; and allow stakeholders to be a part of the design process, so they become part of the project and not just its recipients.
Implementing and scaling up
The implementation and scaling up phases are when our work really takes shapes. After the prototyping phase, we make sure the projects work, and are seen to work, through live prototyping, roadmapping and adaptation. We develop and rely on lean evaluation system and performance tools to build evidence and show the benefits/savings we achieve.
We use digital communication, performances and live events to advertise our initiatives. To ensure that our solutions are technically and financially able to grow, we favour cellular/network growth and leverage our ecosystem through open innovation and incubation processes.
